Lets get personal

Moving into 2021!

Can you believe that we are nearing the end of January 2021 already?! I could have sworn just yesterday we walked into the year 2021. Time is flying by and I have no idea how it’s moving this fast. There’s been so much happening but yet I still find myself dreaming of all the beautiful memories that occurred in 2020. I wanted to share some of my favorites and then also update everyone on what’s to come for 2021. So many things are already underway!

January: Right off the bat we started 2020 with such a good vibe by getting into the restaurant called “Chef Vola’s” in Atlantic City, New Jersey. John turned a whopping 26 years old!

This venue is near impossible to get a reservation at but I was lucky enough to make the list! I took John there for his birthday and invited my parents along for the ride as they always have wanted to go. They have the best Italian food around!

February: Mia turned 4 years old!

March: I also had the most beautiful Bridal Shower that couldn’t have happened without so many loved ones. A special thanks to my Maid of Honors Erin and Maggie. You ladies are simply amazing.

Of course another special shout out to my mother. She truly worked endlessly to make this day pure magic and undoubtedly succeeded.

April: It is our tradition to make bunny cakes every Easter. Since COVID took over, shortly after my Bridal Shower, I made a dozen mini bunny cakes to hand out to the family, house by house. They were Covid free and yummy!

We also took a cute Easter Family Photo.

May: Maverick turned 1!

June: I had a very happy COVID birthday and felt beyond joyful when two of my good friends mailed me gifts the day of my birthday! I felt truly special to be remembered even if we couldn’t see each other in person. It meant the world to me and I’m pretty sure I cried, lol.

My finance then, now hubby, treated me to some great Mexican food for my birthday as well. Yum!

July: As everyone knows, John and I’s original wedding date was set for April but had to be postponed until August. Shortly after my birthday we postponed it again for our second time. So we spent the fourth of July taking new “save the date cards” for our new wedding date. Sunday, July 4, 2021.

Summer of 2020 I also went camping for the first time. The best feeling in the WORLD is waking up in a tent. No joke. I love being in nature.

Maverick also learned how to swim! Thanks to John and lots of piggy back rides in the water, haha.

We took a family vacation in Wildwood & Cape May, New Jersey. It was a great way to enjoy a summer full of social distancing and masking. I honestly am behind and still need to do a whole blog post on this trip because it was amazing! I will get to that soon enough when maybe life stops being so busy.

August: John and I could not take being cooped up in an apartment anymore with the dogs and decided to take the leap and buy a house! We are so blessed to have been able to afford this opportunity in a time when so many others are suffering. I feel so lucky.

Saturday, September 19, 2020: Shortly after buying our house, as everyone again already knows, we eloped on top of a cliff and got married! We still plan on having our big wedding in July 2021 but it was incredible to have an intimate ceremony and tie the knot. It was beyond fulfilling.

November: We spent Thanksgiving with my parents, away from the rest of the world, in a little cottage in Cape May, New Jersey. It was sad not seeing family and having a big event but it was nice being close to the beach and having amazing weather.

December: My friend Lauren came to visit me and see my new house. We went to “Longwood Gardens“. It was an enchanting experience and I was happy we both were able to safely see one another and enjoy this time together.

I spent my first year being a “Cullar.” Just FYI that’s my new last time. Chelsea Cullar, sounds nice, right? Remind me to update the dog tags haha.

GUYS, so much happened this year…in a year where not a lot could happen! I am so blessed and grateful to have had such an amazing 2020. Despite all the tears of postponing a wedding twice, feeling depressed being cooped up in a house, and miss seeing the faces of the people I love…I am SO blessed.

2021 is a year I am going into with the mindset to be a better version of myself. I want to mentally and emotionally be stronger, happier, and healthier. I am focusing on all the personal goals I want to reach, eating cleaner, and being healthier all around. There was so much negativity in 2020 with people in this world filled with hate and anger. It is SO easy to fall into those patterns but I refuse. I will be better than that and I will not let anyone bring me down. We can’t control what is happening in the world but we can control how we react, how we respond, and how we heal.

John and I have amazing goals for 2021 and I can’t wait to make them come true. John just bought his dream truck he’s wanted for years and we are working on saving up for an RV so we can travel the United States. This RV will replace hotel stays and essentially be a second home to us. It is so exciting to see us reaching our goals and thriving!

We also still have our wedding in July which I am looking forward to. Sure, my wedding may look different than a typical wedding but that’s okay. As long as I can safely celebrate and have my day, that’s all that matters. Additionally we have a plan to redo our upstairs bathroom, which doesn’t sound appealing but we are pumped for it!

I can’t wait to see what the future holds and will continue to have positive vibes. I am thrilled to share the journeys we have together with everyone I love!
