Hold My Knots!

Welcome to my first blog post! What better way to celebrate then by adding restaurants to your bucket list?! This month I explored 2 restaurants. One is called “Hold my knots” and the other is “Pier 115“.

Hold my knots

If you’re a casual pizza eater like me then I have just the spot for you! “Hold my knots” in Hillsdale, NJ is a must. This restaurant specializes in creating garlic knot based entrees. They were yummy and so fun to try! They have stuffed garlic knots and garlic knot sliders. I highly recommend the garlic knot sliders. They are an interesting take on the original “hamburger sliders” and were very tasty! My favorite was the chicken Parmesan garlic knot slider but when I go back I truly want to try the BBQ Chicken and Chicken vodka sauce sliders.

(They even used garlic knots as a crust on the pizza!)
(Garlic knot sliders on the right tray. Stuffed garlic knot on the left tray. Penne vodka pizza and garlic knot crust pizza in the back)

I’ll be honest, if you’re looking for unique fantastic pizza this is NOT the place to go. I was disappointed in their pizza. I had high hopes for the penne vodka and garlic knot crust pizza and unfortunately both were nothing special, but the garlic knot sliders and stuffed garlic knots were enough for me to want to go back and eat all the flavors I didn’t try the first time!

Pier 115

After a long week of work and meal prepping in my apartment I sometimes crave a night out with good food and an even better view. This is when Pier 115 in Edgewater, NJ comes to mind. Hearing nothing but good reviews about this venue, my friend decided to celebrate her birthday dinner here. It was so good and I’m already planning on going back when summer rolls around! The location is right on the water and gives you a full view of the NYC Skyline. They provide additional outdoor seating in the warm weather. Though it was February, and cold, the view did not disappoint!

FYI I would make a reservation before coming here as it is extremely popular and you may be waiting a decent amount of time.

The view was worth the chill! (I’m the third on the right)

They had an assortment of options from pizza, to salads, to burgers, to sushi. Normally I would be worried when a restaurant has so many different foods to offer because the quality is never great but Pier115 actually did a splendid job! My table ordered appetizers of the Grilled Octopus and Truffle Mac and Cheese. Both excellent, though I’m more of a bread and cheese kind of gal so the Truffle Mac and Cheese was better in my biased opinion.

(The truffle Mac and Cheese was so creamy and well cooked! I’m hungry again just thinking about it!)

Their pizzas had your typical toppings and we’re pretty tasty. I ordered the Dry aged Logan Burger and it was also very yummy!

Either way, if you’re trying to keep it casual or if you’re trying to go out on the town, you won’t be disappointed by either of these delicious options! Eat up and let me know how your experience goes!

With much love,

Chelsea
