Friday Night Flights: Sangria Tapas Restaurant Review
I’m not sure about you, but with summer coming to an end I am craving EVERY kind of food imaginable. I think my body is thriving on the last warms days we have left and taking full advantage of going out to eat at restaurant patios every chance I get. It sure is making my life expensive but extremely tasteful.
My good friend came across a restaurant called “Sangria Tapas Restaurant” in Mahwah, NJ and they had me at “Sangria” and “Tapas.” I LOVE sangria. To me it’s the perfect summer sipping drink. I also love to share food so Sangria and Tapas honestly sounded like a match made in heaven, so of course we had to check this place out.
We decided, of course, to get a flight of Sangria. Look how beautiful these are! It was such a fun experience to try each different types they had. I try not to be “basic” but I ended up liking the white sangria best. My friend really enjoyed the blue one, which was good too!
Next we ordered tapas! We ordered lamb meatballs, a potato dish called Patatas Bravas, which had a mouth watering sauce (recommended by the waiter himself), chicken empanadas, and Croquetas de Jamón y Pollo which was Serrano ham, chicken, smoked paprika, aioli sauce.
Hands down favorites were the potatoes and lamb meatballs.
Sharing food was SO fun we had to order dessert! Let’s be honest, drinks and desserts are ALWAYS my favorite. For me dinner is the meal that I HAVE to eat to feel like I completed my Due Diligence.
We ordered Churros and Creme Brulee. Let’s be honest, you can’t go wrong with either of these. I mean COME ON, Yum! But on a serious note, if you want a lighter dessert I would definitely shoot for the Creme Brulee since Churros are really just fried carbs.
This restaurant probably isn’t on my top places to eat. The food was good but nothing spectacular where I feel the need to return in a timely manner. However, the atmosphere of the tapas and sharing food makes me want to go back again. It was such a fun experience sharing food with some of my favorite ladies. I swear bonding over food is the best kind of way to catch up with old friends. Clearly, I’m a foodie.
If you’re looking for a spectacular meal, this is not your place. However, if you’re looking for a good time, with decent food, and a fun atmosphere I would head on over. I am curious to go back and try their breakfast menu. Now that sounds like an exciting time.
If you end up heading over let me know what you order and how it was. I am so curious to hear! I can’t wait to continue sharing some of my summer favorites with you all.
